Having to handle some inconvenient features of reality

Experience is a hard school, but fools will learn no other.

I'm having to revise the partslist again I'm afraid. The polystyrene block is going, and the brick, mainly because the action I'm harnessing will have to be different.

Also, the Arduino is just too heavyweight for the logic of this application, which is more or less the logic of a switch. Lucky really since the varying voltages generated aren't enough to reliably power up the ATMega. I'm going to have to build a simpler circuit.

  • 2 LDRs
  • 2 resistors
  • A piezo buzzer
  • A LM393N Low Power Dual Voltage Comparator
  • Several pulley wheels
  • A maplin pull-cord charger
